Research Idea

The main idea behind the research and development efforts is the investigation and optimization of focal plane filter mosaics. A sophisticated arrangement of different filter elements with defined spectral properties on a single chip allow significant improvements. In conventional systems every spectrum needs its own optics, whereas with this new filter only one optics is required.


Advantage

The combination of the advantages of cold coating to generate thin optical layers and the accuracy of fotolithographic technologies gives our jointly developed focal plane filters the cutting edge over all rival technologies.


Application

The focal plane filter mosaics will be deployed in satellites for surfaces scans. Scientist expect to get information about material composition by analyzing emitted radiation.
