Supracon is a globally operating high tech company which has specialized in the development, fabrication, and marketing of ultra-sensitive superconductive sensors and measuring systems.

Supracon was founded on 1st January 2001 as a spin-off from the Department of Cryoelectronics at the Institute for Physical High Technology Jena (IPHT). Supracon maintains close links with the IPHT. It has access on demand to the technical and technological infrastructure of the institute.

Supracon´s roots can be traced back to the pioneering times of superconductor electronics, and over 30 years of experience in SQUID (Superconducting Quantum Interference Device) development and application in Jena.

The company´s competence prospers from the renowned and lively Jena Superconductor Community and from a widespread network of international collaboration.
